Current status
A basic design for the reconstruction of a diesel fuel hydrotreatment unit with a dewaxing unit was developed, a feasibility study for the construction of a hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 12,500 nm³/h was developed. Tender procedures are currently underway to identify an EPC contractor for the reconstruction of a diesel fuel hydrotreater with a dewaxing unit

The project is being implemented in order to obtain winter diesel fuel with a cloud point of minus 28℃ (improvement of the cloud point by 20℃), increase in light oil products yield, covering the import of winter diesel fuel to the northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan and alignment of the production line (main basket of petroleum products). Background causes of the project are inability to produce winter diesel fuel with the existing configuration of the diesel fuel hydrotreatment unit without dewaxing technology and annual imports of winter diesel fuel to the northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan

Implementation of the project will render it possible to:


•Ensure the country’s energy security in terms of winter diesel fuel

•Improve the quality of winter diesel fuel to grade 3

•Partially substitute the imports and satisfy the actual request of the processing feedstock suppliers
