KMG and Shell Discuss Development Prospects for Kashagan and Karachaganak Projects

On Tuesday, March 15, Alik Aidarbayev, Chairman of the Management Board, JSC NC “KazMunayGas” held a meeting with Shell’s Executive Vice President for Exploration and Production Peter Costello.

In his welcoming speech, Alik Aidarbayev congratulated Peter Costello on his appointment as Shell's Executive Vice President and wished him every success in his work.

The head of KMG noted his satisfaction with the relationship dynamics on all cooperation projects between KMG and Shell in Kazakhstan. Alik Aidarbayev stressed that the cooperation of the parties is implemented in a spirit of mutual understanding and partnership.

In his turn, Peter Costello mentioned the importance of the Kazakh projects in Shell's business.

The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, including projects for the further development of the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields, as well as increasing the local content and nationalization of personnel in these projects.

Besides, a fruitful exchange of views on the current situation in the global hydrocarbon market took place during the meeting.
