KMG Publishes 2025 Sustainability Report

NC KazMunayGaz JSC (KMG) annually publishes its Sustainability Report, which serves as the Company's communication to all stakeholders on KMG's progress in implementing the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals.

In May of this year, the KMG Board of Directors approved the 2025 Sustainability Report. The Report has been prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards 2021, the international sustainability reporting standards, ensuring compliance with disclosure requirements regarding the Company's impact on the economy, the environment, and society. Additionally, the Report includes disclosure of industry-specific indicators under the SASB standard, as well as climate reporting in accordance with the requirements of IFRS S2. To enhance stakeholder trust in the reporting, the Report has undergone independent verification by an audit firm.

The Report's concept "Shared challenges. Joint solutions" reflects the Company's understanding of the common challenges faced by the oil and gas industry, the economy, and society amid global change. The climate agenda, the energy transition, and rising social expectations require coordinated and balanced solutions implemented with the involvement of all stakeholders. The report's visual concept, inspired by elements of Kazakh ornamentation, underscores the Company's connection to national identity and its strategic role in the country's socio-economic development, symbolising the convergence of resources, competencies, and efforts directed towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Report discloses key economic, environmental, and social performance indicators for the period from 2023 to 2025, and provides information on activities related to material sustainability aspects: protection of atmospheric air and water resources, industrial safety and occupational health, environmental protection, personnel development, and engagement with local communities. A dedicated section is devoted to climate risk management and opportunities in accordance with the requirements of IFRS S2, including scenario analysis and greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
