“The issue marks KazMunayGas's debut entry into the Chinese yuan market. KMG's Dim Sum bonds are now traded on both the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Astana International Exchange, emphasizing KazMunayGas's recognition on the world's leading financial markets. This issue is not just a financial transaction, it is a strategic step aimed at diversifying funding sources, expanding the investor base and active opening the Asian capital markets. I hope our example will inspire other Kazakh companies to actively enter international markets,” emphasized Diana Aryssova, Deputy Chair of KMG's Management Board.
“KMG has successfully entered the dim sum bond market, achieving a favorable yield while attracting a broad and diversified investor base. This issuance sets out a strong precedent for other companies to follow. The deepening collaboration between HKEX (The Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and AIX continues to open new avenues for businesses on both sides to benefit cross-market financing opportunities,” noted Assel Mukazhanova, Chair of AIX's Management Board.
It should be noted that on 23 October this year, KMG successfully closed the order book for the debut issue of Dim Sum bonds in the amount of CNY1.25 billion and a maturity of 5 years. The coupon rate was 2.95%, the yield was 3.15%, and the applications amount reached approximately CNY3.8 billion, which confirms the high interest of investors in KMG.
This issue received positive reviews from international financial analysts in terms of yield and coupon rate. The successful placement of Dim Sum bonds is another confirmation of the high confidence in KMG's credit profile and Kazakhstan's macroeconomic stability.
