Social Responsibility

KMG adheres to the principles of creating an effective system of social protection and achieving favorable relationships among labor collectives, as well as a constructive dialogue between employees and employers.

KMG adheres to the principles of creating an effective system of social protection and achieving favorable relationships among labor collectives, as well as a constructive dialogue between employees and employers. KMG has a system of relations with employees based on a collective agreement, which defines the conditions and uniform mechanisms for remuneration, hours of work and rest, safety and labor protection, and social support.
The implementation of internal socially oriented programs in KMG is of particular importance as a socially responsible company. In their promotion, first of all, the emphasis is on creating favorable conditions for employees: financial incentives, professional growth, and ensuring labor safety.
A constant connection has been established with employees and their representatives through the internal communications system: reporting meetings of the first managers of companies with labor collectives and trade unions are organized, appointments with employees on their personal issues are held, a blog of the first managers has been created, information stands and monitors have been installed for important information for labor collectives. A corporate newspaper is published.
In order to maintain constant contact with employees and provide a «feedback mechanism» within KMG Group, the Regulations for a unified system of internal communications have been introduced. According to these Regulations, reporting meetings are held between the CEO and employees. The main tasks of the internal communications system are the creation and maintenance of effective mechanisms for direct communications between Employers and Employees in SDCs, timely informing Employees about the goals and objectives of activities in SDCs, and bringing the current situation in the organization to Employees.
Internal communications include the following:
Scheduled reporting meeting of the Chief Executive Officer with the employees (held at least twice a year);
Ad-hoc meetings between Management and employees to discuss urgent issues requiring immediate decisions;
Meeting of KMG employees with the Chief Executive Officer on personal matters;
Corporate website;
Information stand;
Meetings of the Line Manager with the Employees of a structural unit, section, team, etc. (held quarterly);
Meetings of the KMG Management with trade unions (quarterly);
SDC Chief Executive Officer’s blog;
Screen for video announcements;
Boxes for employees’ proposals.

An equally important factor in the social well-being of KMG Group employees is working conditions, including social and living conditions: comfortable accommodation, canteens, and places for recreation.

Every year, the Center for Social Interaction and Communication of Samruk-Kazyna JSC measures the Social Stability Index (SSI). In recent years, this indicator of KMG exceeds the average level.
The integral indicator of the Social Stability Index in KMG in 2021 was 79%.
In almost all subsidiaries and affiliates there is a favorable or stable situation and the Engagement Index is 83%, and this indicator is one of the highest in comparison with similar values in the entire history of research.
The index of social well-being is in the stable zone (61%). It should be noted that the index of social well-being depends on external economic circumstances, income level, and financial literacy. The index of Social Peace reflects the level of social tension of the team, the assessment of the protest potential, and the motives of the hypothetical readiness for protest actions. This indicator was 80% and is currently assessed as “stable” according to the rank scale of values.
