Employment record:
Askhat Khassenov started his career in 2005 as a 3rd grade Oil and Gas Production Operator in Turgai Petroleum JSC (Kyzylorda).
In 2006-2010, he worked at JSC “Main Dispatch Department of the Oil and Gas Industry” at the positions of leading, chief specialist, head of the Department for monitoring the development of oil and gas fields, Deputy Director, Director of the Department, Vice President.
In 2011 – 2019 he continued his career in the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he was a Head of State Inspection and Permit Issuance Department in the Oil and Gas Industry State Inspection Committee, and later headed the Petrochemicals and Technical Regulation Department.
From 2019 to 2022, he held the post of Deputy CEO of KLPE.
Prior to his appointment to KazMunayGas in 2022-2024, he was Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this position, he oversaw the issues of subsoil use and the development of petrochemistry, and also headed the Central Commission for the Exploration and Development of Hydrocarbon Deposits.
