Alik Aidarbayev Has Met with Chevron’s Vice President

On Thursday, 3 February, Alik Aidarbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, held a meeting with James Johnson, Executive Vice President of Chevron.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including the implementation of the Tengiz Field Future Growth Project and further development of the Karachaganak Project.

Alik Aidarbayev noted that all necessary measures had been taken during the state of emergency to ensure the stable operation of the KMG Group’s companies.

“KazMunayGas’ companies have not stopped their processes and maintained the operation under normal conditions. As a national operator, we have sufficient strength and fulfil all our obligations to third parties,” Mr. Aidarbayev noted.

“Chevron has a long history of operation in Kazakhstan. As a long-term partner, we are always ready to give a helping hand. We highly value our cooperation with KazMunayGas and share the pain caused by the tragic events,” Mr. Johnson said.

During the meeting, the partners also discussed the prospects of collaboration in the petrochemical industry.
