The Karashyganak field is one of the world's largest oil and gas condensate fields, located in northwest Kazakhstan, near the city of Aksai and covering an area of more than 280 square kilometers. The field was discovered in 1979, pilot development started in 1984 by the USSR.@Currently, a number of projects are being implemented at the Karashyganak field, aimed at maintaining the production plateau of liquid hydrocarbons at 10-11 million tons annually by expanding the existing gas treatment and reservoir reinjection systems , drilling new production and injection wells.
Two projects were completed in 2021-2022: Karachaganak Gas Debottlenecking project (KGDBN) and The Fourth Injection Compressor (4ICP) Project. The total investment of both projects is $1.5 billion.

As an operator of the Karashyganak field Karashyganak Petroleum Operating B.V. implements the following projects:

Fifth Injection Compressor Project (KEP-1A or 5ICP)

-Project cost is $970 million, and additional production is 7.1 million tons.

-Project is at the implementation stage.

-The launch of the 5th compressor is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2025.

Sixth Injection Compressor Project (KEP-1B or 6ICP)

- Final investment decision (FID) was made in November 2022 .

- Project cost is $735 million, and additional production is 5.8 million tons.
