Silleno LLP is the operator of the “Construction of the First Integrated Gas Chemical Complex. Second phase (Production of Polyethylene)” investment strategic project.

The project is developed within the “Sustainable economic growth aimed to improve the welfare of the Kazakh people” national project and the government program for the petrochemical industry development in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is in the list of strategic investment projects. Project goal is to produce large-tonnage polyethylene with a capacity of 1.25 MMtpa for sale in the domestic and foreign markets. The feedstock is the TCO gas, from which Gas Separation Plant infrastructure project will produce ethane required for the polyethylene plant.

The steam cracking (pyrolysis), ethylene polymerization, and one auxiliary licensed ethylene dimerization are expected to be used in the Project. Various exclusive licensors of pyrolysis, whose technological process involves production of ethylene from the ethane fraction supplied as a raw material to the boundaries of the facility, are considered. In terms of polymerization, the company is considering a configuration with two reactors with a capacity of 625 KTPA, licensed technologies for gas-phase and/or suspension processes for low-pressure polyethylene production, where from pyrolysis polymerization the ethylene is produced to get the final product.
