Current status
EPC contractors for infrastructure and desalination plant have been engaged. Construction-and-assembly works are in progress. Launch is planned in 2025.

The Kenderli Desalination Plant is constructed to follow the order of the Head of State dd 1 Sep 2021 (paragraph 67 “The unity of the people and systemic reforms are a solid foundation for the nation’s prosperity” of the Nationwide Plan on implementation of the Head of State Message to the People of Kazakhstan) to bridge the existing water shortage in Zhanaozen and address the social issues in the Mangistau region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project helps to reduce the financial and technical load on the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak water pipeline.


Desalination technology: reverse osmosis. The production capacity of the Desalination Plant is 50 thousand m3/day. According to the project feasibility study, the entire volume of water produced by the plant will be fully directed to the needs of the population, enterprises and organizations of Zhanaozen.
