Our networks
We contribute to the development of the regions of our operations and maintain an ongoing dialogue with key stakeholders on all substantive matters.
In order to promote regional development, we are actively cooperating with local authorities through the conclusion of memorandums of cooperation in the field of socio-economic development, gas supply for regions and provision of access to the inaccessible and essential goods and services in these regions.
KMG shares the main provisions of the precautionary principle (Principle 15 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development of the United Nations, 1992). Before we launch new projects and facilities, on a mandatory basis we carry out a complex of measures as part of environmental impact assessment (EIA), aimed at informing the public about the proposed operations and their possible impact, in order to identify public opinion and take it into account in the process of impact assessment. We provide access to all stakeholders to the draft EIA, acceptance and registration of comments and suggestions. The materials are posted on the websites of local authorities and mass media, in order to familiarize the public with the planned activities. We immediately respond to the requests from communities and one of the Group's priorities is pre-trial settlement of situations.
The basis for monitoring the possible negative impact of production on the environment in the regions of operation is a regular production environmental monitoring.
In order to ensure compliance with the requirements of labor protection, prevention of occupational diseases and accidents at work, as well as to check working conditions in the regions, there are the Commissions on Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Protection that work together with local trade unions.
There are also formal mechanisms for the application of complaints, which are described in the section Procedure for filing and reviewing complaints.
