The Board of Directors of KMG EP has decided to create joint stock companies based on existing production facilities and elected new members to the Management Board
Astana, 01 February, 2012. JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (‘KMG EP’ or ‘the Company’) reports on decisions made at the last meeting of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors considered the Company's management proposal to transfer significant powers to the production facilities "Uzenmunaygaz" and "Embamunaygaz”. The Board agreed with the suggestion to transform the two production branches into joint stock companies.  KMG EP will own 100% of the shares of the new entities. These changes involve the transfer to the newly created joint-stock companies of the fixed assets and the subsoil use rights, subject to approvals by appropriate authorities. Joint-stock form of ownership will give the companies necessary autonomy in the conduct of their business operations and will ensure their management’s responsibility, as well as transparency and compliance with modern standards of corporate governance.

The JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) Board of Directors has decided to call an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, during which changes will be made to the Board of Directors of KMG EP, a spokesperson said on Monday.

Rompetrol – 2.8 million USD for dragging works in the Midia Port
The Rompetrol Group through Midia Marine Terminal will execute during January – June 2012 dragging activities of the Midia Port berths in order to facilitate the transit of oil tankers. The cost of the works is estimated at 2.8 million USD.

KMG EP acquires “Karpovskiy Severnyi” exploration block
Astana, 28 December 2011. KazMunaiGas Exploration Production JSC (“KMG EP” or “the Company”) announced the closing of the acquisition of 100% of shares in Karpovskiy Severnyi JSC from GazMunaiOnim LLP for 59 mln USD. Karpovskiy Severnyi JSC is a subsoil use right holder under the Contract for Exploration of Oil, Gas and Condensate at Karpovskiy Severnyi (“the Block”) contract area in the Western Kazakhstan region.  The deal was approved on 18 October 2011 by the Board of Directors of KMG EP. All regulatory approvals have also been received.

KMG EP appoints a new Chief Executive Officer
Astana, 22 December 2011. JSC "KMG EP" ("KMG EP" or the "Company") has announced that as of 22 December 2011 the Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) Askar Balzhanov has resigned from his position. Alik Aidarbayev, the current Chairman of the Board of directors has been appointed the Chairman of the Management Board (CEO). Mr Sisengali Utegaliyev will act as Chairman of the Board of directors until the election of a new chairman.

On the situation at Uzenmunaigas with regard to the disturbances in the city of Zhanaozen
Astana, 21 December, 2011. JSC "KazMunaiGas Exploration Production" ("KMG EP" or the "Company") reports that there has been no damage caused to KMG EP production facilities during the disturbance that took place in the city of Zhanaozen on the 16th December 2011. The situation at the Uzen field is stable. Average daily production rate is maintained approximately at the level of previous days but somewhat below the planned level due do a number of power cuts in the field in December. With the help of police the security, including the armed security at all the Uzenmunaigas (“UMG”) production facilities, has been arranged.

Rompetrol Group, through the social responsibility program – Together for Everyone, supported with USD 10,000 the equipment of ISU/SMURD Bihor teams with an informational system to assist decision-making, a one of a kind system in Romania, to be used in emergency missions.

Rompetrol is finalizing the assembly works of two new units on the Petromidia platform
“On the eve of the 20’th anniversary of the Republic of Kazahstan Rominserv – a subsidiary company and the general contractor of The Rompetrol Group, is successfully completing construction and assembly operations on two new units at the Petromidia platform (mild hydrocracker unit and hydrogen plant) and has began pre-commissioning and start-up activities in accordance with the refinery processing capacity increase program up to 5 million tons. The investment in the new facilities is estimated to be 264 million USD, while the Petromidia refinery processing capacity increase program amounts 377 million USD.“

The ceremony of acceptance of the first large capacity tankers by JSC NMSC “Kazmortransflot” (KMTF, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” was held on 9 December 2011 in the port of Batumi (Georgia).
