Kazmortransflot expands its fleet

On July 4 of the current year in Astana, solemn ceremony of signing the Agreement on attraction of borrowed funds on the principles of Islamic banking between LLP "NMSK" Kazmortransflot ", shipbuilding company" Damen "(Kingdom of the Netherlands) and the bank JSC" Islamic Bank "Al Hilal" for the construction of 3 new Tugs of the project "Damen Shoalbuster 2709".

Three new tugboats will be built at the shipyard by the shipbuilding company Damen in the period from 2017 to 2018, commissioned by KMTF. Damen is a first-class European shipyard with a rich history and experience in building ships.
Tugs will perform the following functions: towing objects and vessels, assisting ships, navigational assistance, planting and handling of anchors, as well as other auxiliary ship duties.
The length of each tug will be 27 meters, width 9 meters. Draft of tugboats will allow working in shallow areas of the Caspian Sea.
Tugs will be used for work in the Northern Caspian. The peculiarity of these tugboats is the increased demand for capacity at limited depths in the area of ​​work and the limited dimensions of the vessel.
Kazmortransflot expands its capabilities in providing the national fleet with its own powerful tugboats. These tugboats will be in demand in arrangement of future deposits in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea.
