Usen fields

Uzen fields were discovered in December 1961. They have been in commercial development since 1965.

The fields are characterized by complicated geological structure and unique oil properties, known for high paraffin content ( up to 29%) and pyrobitumen-tarry substances ( up to 20%) which are responsible for high freezing temperature (+32C).

The field reserves amount to approximately 75% of total proven reserves and predicted oil reserves . They include the following fields:

  • Uzen field (oil and gas)
  • Karamandybas (oil and gas)
  • South Zhetibai field ( gas and gas condensate)
  • Western Tenge field (gas and gas condensate)
  • Aktas field (gas and gas condensate)
  • Tasbulat field (gas and gas condensate)
  • Eastern Uzen (gas)
