Abai field is located in the water surface of Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian sea at the distance of 60-70 km to the North-west of the coast of Bozashi peninsula. The sea depth in the site comprises 8-10 meters. The main objects of exploration in the framework of above-salt complex of Abai field are Cretaceous, Jurassic and trias terrigenous deposits.
On June 13, 2005, Ministry of energy and mineral resources of RK decided to grant the right for subsoil management on the terms of product sharing agreement to NC «KazMunayGas» JSC and signed direct negotiations protocol with hem.
They are planning to continue negotiations with the authorized organization concerning Abai field subsoil management rights, on the terms of the Product Sharing Agreement
Abai area is located in Kazakhstani sector sea area of the Caspian sea 60-70 km to north-west from the coast of Bozashi peninsula. Sea depth in the project area constitutes 8-10 meters.
Cretaceous, Jurassic and Trias terrigenous deposits are the main exploration targets within the bounds of the above-salt complex of Abai area.
Negotiations with the competent body on obtaining subsoil use right are planned.
