Oil transportation via main oil pipelines is carried out by a subsidiary of the system of “KazTransOil” JSC (total length is 5323 km). Oil transportation by sea is carried by the subsidiary of “NMSC” Kazmortransflot” JSC (6 tankers with deadweight of 12 000-13 000 tons of the Caspian Sea, as well as chartered vessels of Aframax-type on the Black Sea).
In addition, “NC “KMG” JSC owns equity in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline amounting to 20.75%, including 19% - the Government of the RK and the CPC - 1.7%.
To date, the main active export routes for Kazakhstan oil are:
- Atyrau-Samara pipeline (“KazTransOil” JSC - 100%);
- CPC pipeline ( “NC “KMG” JSC -20.75%);
- Pipeline Atasu-Alashankou ( “KazTransOil” JSC -50%);
- Marine terminal of Aktau.
The largest volume of Kazakhstan oil exported in 2011 by the CPC pipeline amounted to 29.9 million tons and the Atyrau-Samara-15.4 million tons. 10.9 million tons is transported in the Chinese direction. Sea exports amounted to 9.3 million tons.
