Safi Utebayev (1909-2007 гг.)
On of the pioneers f oil industry in Kazakhstan;
One of discoverers of oil deposits in Kulsary, Komomolsk, Prorva, Kenhiyak, Karaton, Munaily, Zhetibai;
Honored worker of science and technology of KazSSR;
Honored oil worker of the USSR.
Biography:
1909 – was born in the village of Kyzilkoginsk region of Atyrau;
1935 – graduated from Baku oil institute;
1936-1945 – worked as an engineer , bore shop foreman in Makat, chief engineer of the Trust «Embaneft», head of science and production association in Makat, Baishonas, Kulsary, Komsomolsk;
1945-1951 – the first secretaty of the local party committee in Zhilioil;
1951-1957 – head of the association «Kazakstanneft»;
1957-1962 – chairman of Gurybsk council of national economy;
1962-1965 – Chairman of Western Kazakhstan Council of national economy;
1965-1971 – chairman of the associations «Kazakhstanneft» and «Mangyshlakneft»;
1971-1980 – deputy director of the Science and research institute for technical information of Gosplan KazSSR; awarded with Order of Lenin, Order Badge of Honour (1942), Order of the Great Patriotic War II grade ( 1946), Order of the RED Banner of Labour (1966), Order of October Revolution (1971) , Otan ( 1999), Barys I grade (2004)
In connection with the celebration of 110-th Anniversary of Kazakhstan oil , NC «KazMunayGas» JSC announces a grant-winning competition named after Safi Utebayev.
The 2-4 year students of the following specialties are eligible for the competition:
050608 Ecology;
050702 Automation and control;
050706 Geology and exploration of mineral deposits;
050708 Oil and gas;
050715 Offshore technologies;
050721 Chemical technology of organic substances;
050731 Safety and environment protection.
Selection criteria:
GPA – not less than 3.5 points;
membership in professional communities;
participation in science conferences;
publications.
Safi Utebayev Grants are established for teachers of the field-specific oil-and-gas and technical disciplines of specialized secondary schools (colleges, professional technical schools) located in the Atyrau, Aktobe, West-Kazakhstan and Mangystau oblasts.
In-service teachers having high achievements in scientific and educational work with no less than 3 years working experience can take part in the competition to receive the Safi Utebayev grant.
Teachers’ activity will be assessed with qualitative and quantitative indicators taken into account.
